Strip personal identifiers from records and datasets before they reach an AI tool or a third party — entirely in your browser.
Most redaction tools stop at emails and phone numbers. Data Sanitizer's HIPAA / Documents preset is built around the identifiers that actually make a record re-identifiable — the same categories referenced by the HIPAA Safe Harbor method — so you can de-identify clinical notes, support tickets, case files and datasets before pasting them into ChatGPT, Claude, or anywhere else.
One click enables detection aligned to the Safe Harbor identifiers — names, dates, addresses, postal codes, SSNs, phone numbers, emails and record IDs.
Person names (built-in dictionary), street addresses, dates in any common format, and US/UK postal codes — off by default so they never touch your logs unless you turn the preset on.
Everything runs in your browser, so the personal data in your logs is processed only in your browser. De-identify before anything reaches a third-party AI.
With the HIPAA / Documents preset on, the engine looks for: patient and provider names, dates of birth and other dates, street addresses, US and UK postal codes, medical record numbers and other record IDs, Social Security numbers, phone numbers and email addresses — in addition to the technical identifiers (hosts, IPs, users, secrets) it always detects.
Paste your document or log into the app, turn on the HIPAA / Documents preset, and press Sanitize. Every identifier becomes a consistent, reversible token (for example NAME_01, DATE_01, ADDRESS_01) so the structure and relationships in your data stay intact for an AI to reason about, without exposing who or where it's about. Switch to Restore mode afterward to map an AI's reply back to the real values — all locally, using a mapping that never leaves your device.
Turn on the HIPAA / Documents preset and the engine detects names, dates, addresses, postal codes, SSNs, phone numbers and emails in addition to technical identifiers. It's a best-effort de-identification aid that runs entirely in your browser — no data leaves your device — but it isn't a certified compliance product, so review the output before publishing.
Data Sanitizer is a best-effort redaction aid, not legal advice or a certified compliance product. It is not independently certified against the HIPAA Safe Harbor method or any other standard. Always review de-identified output before sharing or publishing it.
